Obituary of Kathleen Puckett Johnson Altizer

Kathleen Douglas Puckett Johnson Altizer, 72, of Lynchburg died peacefully at her home Sunday, November 16, 2008. She was the wife of Kenneth R. Altizer. Born December 27, 1935 in Campbell County she was the daughter of the late James Innis Puckett, Sr. and Collie DeJarnett Puckett. She graduated from Brookville High School and was owner and operator of Johnson's Ceramics for 30 years. She loved bowling, dancing, fishing, cooking and gardening. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter Robin Johnson of Lynchburg; granddaughter, Sandy Glass and husband Russ of Evington; great grandchildren, Matthew Glass and Sydney Kathleen Glass; her brother, Jim Puckett and wife Laurel and Pete Johnson all of Rustburg as well a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday 11:00 am at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Pastor Paul F. Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Naruna. The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 6:30-8:30 pm and at other times will be at the residence.
