Obituary of Alfred Cumby

Alfred Walker Cumby, 80, of Lynchburg, died on his birthday, Friday, November 28, 2008 at his residence. Born, November 28, 1928 in Charlotte County, he was a son of the late Harry Morton and Florence Rush Cumby. He was retired from the marketing department of G.E. in Lynchburg. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He is survived by two sisters, Jane C. Foster and Carolyn C. Isley both of Lynchburg. A scattering service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Historic Old City Cemetery Scatter Garden.. Memorial contributions may be made to the D-Day Memorial Foundation, Bedford, Va., 24523 or a charity of your choice. Diuguid Funeral Service-Waterlick Chapel (237-2722), is serving the family.
