Obituary of Patricia Davis
Patricia McGeary Davis of Lynchburg
passed away Wednesday, December 10,
2008 at her home after a long and fruitful life. She was the wife
of the late Beverly A. David, III.
Born March 31, 1927
in Rochester, MN
she was a daughter of the late Paul William McGeary, Sr. and Rheta Claire
McConnelough McGeary. She graduated from Shortridge
High School in Indianapolis,
IN and attended Butter
University, University
of Virginia, Randolph Macon Woman's
College and Central Virginia
Community College while raising her
family. Pat worked for several architectural and engineering firms and retired
as District Manager for Avon Products, Inc. During high school and college Pat
sang in two church choirs and Butter U's senior chorus and helped organize a
small choral group that gained a credible reputation in the annual Spring Sing
at Butler U. She was a Girl Scout leader during her two girls scouting years
and served as a volunteer at the United Way
of Virginia and at Virginia
Baptist Hospital.
In her later years, Pat traveled extensively throughout the US
and several countries in South America and became an
avid bridge player.
In addition to her husband and parents Pat was preceded in
death by her daughter Kathryn "Kami" W. Montgomery and
siblings, Jean Frank, Elizabeth Clemens and Paul W. McGeary, Jr. She is
survived by daughter Sandra M. Heimerman and husband Gregory of Millville, MN;
nephew Paul W. McGeary, III of Indianapolis, IN; son Keith E. Davis of Bar Harbor, ME;
grandchildren, Gregory Paul Chambers, Myra Claire Smith and Raphael Heimerman
and 3 great grandsons.
A private memorial service will be held in the chapel at The
Old City Cemetery at a later date. Diuguid Wiggington Chapel is in charge of
arrangements.
