Obituary of Eleanor Farlow

Eleanor Hogan Farlow, 87, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in the Medical Care Center . She is survived by her husband, Irvin Grant Farlow of 65 years. Born December 2, 1921 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Jaby F. and Mary Dalton Hogan. She was retired from Central Virginia Training Center and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Irvin, she is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Largen , Peggy F. Brooks and her husband, Steve, all of Lynchburg and two sons, James Irvin Farlow, Sr. and his wife Jerry of Goode and Michael F. Farlow and his wife Martha of Lynchburg; thirteen grandchildren , 20 great-grand children and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Farlow is also survived by her dedicated and loving caretakers, Hazel Rucker and Nina Johnson. The family wishes to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff of Medical Care Center for their kind and compassionate care given to Mrs. Farlow. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Diuguid Wiggington Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Hurt, VA..
