Obituary of Virginia Farmer Woodall
Virginia Smith Farmer Woodall of Forest died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at her
residence. Twice married her first husband was the late Lloyd T. Farmer and is
survived by her second husband, Robert R. Woodall of Forest.
Born March 29, 1922
in Roanoke she was a daughter of
the late Pearl D. and Gladys Johns Smith. Virginia
was raised in Altavista in the Baptist faith and spent 55 years there and
continued to have a deep love for the community.
Virginia was
preceded in death by four brothers, George L. Smith, Richard S. Smith, P. D.
Smith, Jr., Robert C. Smith and her sister, Kathleen Wiles Woodall. She is
survived by one daughter, Martha Dean Miller and husband Terry of Awendaw, SC
and Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Melanie Mays Srsic and husband of Jared of
Lynchburg and Justin Michael Mays and wife Lisa of Sedalia. Also surviving is
an extended family that were like her own children and grandchildren; nieces
Kathy Parker of Roanoke and her sons, Will and Dale Parker, Jinny Woodall of
Lynchburg, nephew Tim Wiles and wife Janice of Chatham and their two sons Tommy
and Stephen and step daughter Bobbie J. Trent and husband David of Kingsport,
TN.
A funeral service
will be held Friday 11:00 am at
Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Lanham and the Rev. Evelyn
Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Green
Hill Cemetery
in Altavista.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home.
