Obituary of Doris Tudor

Doris Emily Tudor, 85, of Lynchburg died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Avante at Lynchburg. Born in England on April 22, 1923 she was a daughter of the late William Staff and Emily Kate Staff Brown and was the widow of John Tudor. Mrs. Tudor was retired from First Colony Life Insurance Company when that company was in its infancy. She was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church and the M.S. Society. She is survived by a son, John D. Tudor and his wife, Dana of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. A daughter, Mary T. Scott and her husband, John of Lynchburg. Four grandchildren, Ronnie Green of Wilmington, North Carolina, Brian Green of Lynchburg, Beth Rippy of Conyers, Georgia and Emily Strickland and her husband, Andy of Garner, North Carolina. Four great grandchildren, Austin and Alyson Green and Brendan and Lillian B. Strickland. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Staff. A Celebration of Doris?s Life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Vernie Barrow officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel on Timberlake Rd. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, P.O.
