Obituary of Corbett Warren White

Corbett Warren White, Jr., 92, was called home Friday, July 21, 2017. He was born in Nelson County on February 23, 1925 and was the son of Corbett Warren White, Sr. and Emily Huffman White. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances White in 2005, three brothers, Samuel, John and Wilson White and two sisters, Eliza White Martin and Gertrude White Martin. He is survived by one sister, Mary White Evans; a son, Corbett Warren White, III; a daughter, Mary June White Tyree; a devoted son-in-law, Kevin E. Tyree; his beloved Granddogs, Savannah, Mickey and Dolly and GrandKitty, Nikki. Corbett was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff and aides at Carriage Hill Memory Care and to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for taking such excellent care of Mr. White during his time with them. Animals brought great joy and comfort to Mr. White throughout his life. Anyone wishing to do so may honor his memory by making a donation to help a Veteran get a service/therapy dog for physical or PTSD needs. Donations used for training, feeding, housing and vet care for the animals can be sent to Paws for Veterans, 63 Ocean Blvd. Satellite Beach, FL 32937 A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
