Obituary of William Douglas Kofeldt

William "Bill" Douglas Kofeldt, 76, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Eleanor "Sue" Dunnam Kofeldt for fifty-five years. Born August 1, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Peter Vincent Kofeldt and Vera Wooldridge Kofeldt . He was retired from Rock-Tenn after working there for fifty years. He enjoyed researching his family ancestry and helping organize his Amherst High School class reunions. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his wife, "Sue", he is survived by one son, Troy Douglas Kofeldt (Dee); one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kofeldt Rickman (David); two grandchildren, Payton Troy Alexander Kofeldt, Taegan Marie Fischer(Landon); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his furry friends, "Herbie", "Katie" and "Maggie". A gathering of family and friends during a reception will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5 to 7:30 P.M. at the Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel, 811 Wiggington Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynchburg Area Food Bank or Lynchburg Humane Society.
