Obituary of Jessie David Wilson

Jessie David "J.D." Wilson, 70 of Rustburg, exchanged his earthly residence for his eternal one Thursday, September 21, 2017 at sunrise while at Guggenheimer Nursing Home Hospice Unit. Born November 17, 1946 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Frank J. Wilson, Sr. and Lottie Jones Wilson. David was retired from the Lynchburg Police Department after over fifteen years of service. He later worked as a private investigator until his retirement. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and was a member of the NRA, Local F.O.P. and the Lynchburg Law Enforcement Officers Association. He enjoyed photography, fishing, wood working and gardening. He loved watching classic movies and listening to country music. He is survived by two daughters, Jessica D.Wilson (Jesse) and Jennifer W. Cabaniss (Scott); seven grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Anne Bruce and Mirenda W. Daniels; one brother, Wayne H. Wilson and a "baseball" team of nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank J. "Buster" Wilson Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service.
