Obituary of Glenn Ellis Mays

Glenn Ellis Mays, 81, of Evington, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Mays. Born March 17, 1936, he was a son of the late James Tacoma Mays and Eula Cash Mays, He was retired from both Lynchburg Foundry and Lynchburg College. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Earl Dewitt Mays and William Roger Mays; one sister, Shirley M. Campbell (Plum); two grandchildren, Cassandra Mays and Joshua Aaron Mays and numerous nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Louis Beckwith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Entombment will be in Altavista Memorial Park.
