Obituary of Alicia Schutte Wright

Alicia Schutte Wright left this life on Thursday morning, November 23. Alicia left behind a legacy of love and appreciation for all living things. She spent her life rescuing and caring for people, animals, and plants. She had a knack for sensing when something needed help and was determined that it was her responsibility to give it. Alicia carried this love for those needing help into a degree and a career as a Registered Nurse. Alicia worked at Virginia Baptist Hospital and later at Westminister Canterbury. She had a strong desire to provide care and respect for the elderly. Alicia's devotion to those in need was surpassed only by that to her family. She was her family's teacher, example, cheerleader, and champion. Alicia was a terrific co-worker, sister, friend and wife, but she was most passionate of her role as a mother, at which she excelled. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Colonel Warren Schutte. She is survived by her brother John Schutte of Pulaski and her husband/friend Neal Wright and her children James, Melody, and Maria Wright of Lynchburg. Alicia's final days were spent with those who loved her and who will look forward to seeing her again. She will be remembered, missed and loved. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2017, at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory Waterlick Chapel (434-237-2722). Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation on Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Virginia Memorial Park.
