Obituary of Benjamin Jacob Cole

Benjamin (Benji) Jacob Cole II Benjamin Jacob Cole, 43, of Lynchburg, died Sunday December 17, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Born June 16, 1974, he was a son of Diane Cole and Ben Cole. He played for the Timberlake Lions from 1981 to 1987, one of his highlights was when his team was undefeated 1988 while playing for the Brookville Bees JV team. He played for the varsity team from 1989 to 1991. He attended Bridgewater College from 1992 to 1996 where he also played football. He was a coach for the Timberlake Lions from 2004 to 2011. He was a computer Technician at Liberty University from 2000 until 2007. In addition to his mother and father he is survived by one daughter Chloe Elizabeth Cole; 0ne brother, Mark Ward, one sister, Kim (Sis) Goff and her husband Tim; one nephew Jacob Goff; one neice Cheyenne Ward; his former wife, Treva Wallace; one sister-in-law, Theresa Novak. He is also survived by special friends Robbie Godfrey, Scotty Mobley, Jason Montgomery, Jason Monaghan and Wayland Lohr. A memorial service will be held Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff of Lynchburg General Hospital for their loving care and compassion. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Timberlake Lions Football Organization Diuguid Funeral Service and Crematory, Waterlick Chapel, is serving the family.
