Obituary of Russell Allen Smith

Russell Allen Smith passed from this life on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born on August 13, 1946 to the late Walter Lee Smith and Mary Jane Smith. Russell is survived by his son, Jason Allen Smith, of Manchester NH and Jasons mother, Cecelia Smith of Newport News, VA. One brother, Jack Lee Smith of Smithfield VA, sister, Carol Ann Bernett of Las Vegas NV and Linda Susan Hayton (husband Joe) of Seaford VA. Russell started his career as a barber for several years and then moved on to Newport News (VA) Shipbuilding working with mobile cranes, then to the transportation dept and finally worked in the tool room. After leaving the shipyard he worked at the Walmart in Lexington VA from which he retired about 6 years ago. Russell leaves behind three cats, Marie, Gracie and Bobby, whom he affectionately referred to as Bobbit, because he was born without a tail. Russell loved living and hunting in the mountains of VA. He will be missed by family and friends.
