Obituary of Benjamin Vaughan

Benjamin Franklin Vaughan III , 83 ,of Lynchburg died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at the Privette Home. He was the husband of Elizabeth Hogan "Betty" Vaughan for 56 years. Born June 26, 1924 in Louisa County he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Vaughan, Jr. and Marjorie Baker Vaughan. Ben was a U.S. Naval Air Corp WWII veteran and graduated from Lynchburg College. He was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. He was owner and operator of Ben Franklin Farms at Goode, Va. and retired as a pharmaceutical representative with Sandoz Laboratories. Ben would like to be remembered as an outdoorsman, fisherman and turkey hunter. Ben was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Franklin Vaughan IV and his parents- in-law, Eli Oliver Hogan and Mary Ray Hogan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Pamela Vaughan Lingenfelser and three grandsons, William Bryce, Ashton Alexander and Brooks Peyton Lingenfelser, all of Key Largo, FL. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11:00 am in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow and the Rev. Tom Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 6 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel and at other times will be at the residence.
