Obituary of Paula Haynsworth

Paula Irving Haynsworth, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007 at her home. She was the widow of Dr. Josiah E. Haynsworth. Born November 6, 1910 in Farmville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paulus and Lucy Taylor Irving. She was a graduate of Farmville High School and Longwood College with a B.S. degree and later graduated from Drexel Institute with a B.S. degree in Library Science. Mrs. Haynsworth was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Colonial Dames , Lynchburg Woman's Club and the Lynchburg Historical Society. She was honored to be a descendent of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence. She is survived by two sons, Josiah Edgar Haynsworth, III of Midway, GA, and Paulus Irving Haynsworth and his wife Claire of Virgina Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Spencer Taylor Haynsworth, Allan Irving Haynsworth, Donna Haynsworth Salasky and Ronals Smith. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Vernice Culpepper and Ethel Goins for their faithful and devoted care. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 11:00 in Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John Scholer officiating.
