Obituary of Dennis Farnsworth

Dennis Franklin Farnsworth, 76, of Forest, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 in Lynchburg Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret J. Farnsworth. Born May 24, 1931 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Herbal G. and Delcie Kimble Farnsworth. Mr. Farnsworth was retired manager from Beltone Hearing Aid Center after 30 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church (Timberlake Road) where he also served as Deacon and Head Usher. He was a member of the Lynchburg Host Lions Club for 30 years, past chairman of the Campbell County Rescue Squad, Magicians Club, and served as a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol for 10 years. He also was a volunteer in the Lynchburg General Hospital Auxiliary and the Jamerson YMCA and participated in the Citizens Police Academy. In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by two sons, Dennis M. Farnsworth and his wife Brenda of Forest, Randy Lee Farnsworth and his wife Jovita of Lodi, Ohio; two daughters, Charlene Farnsworth Read of Lynchburg and Robin Farnsworth Meeks and her husband James of Forest; three sisters, Doris Nestler and Juanita Johnson and her husband Glenn of Parkersburg, WVa and Glena Peterson of Wisconsin; one brother, Sterling Farnsworth and his wife Ruby of Parkersburg; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert , Harold Glenn and Vincent Farnsworth. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in Calvary Baptist Church (Timberlake Road) with the Rev. Mark Beck and Rev. Don Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church. Intombment will be in Virginia Memorial Park on Monday at 11:00 A.M..
