Obituary of Dewey Arrington

Dewey Ray Arrington, 89, of Lyncburg, passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 . He was the widower of Maggie Rector Arrington. Born September 11, 1918, in Waynesville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William Manson and Charlotte Rhea Arrington. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a retired farmer in Campbell County. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. "A" is survived by his daughter, Brenda Arrington of Lynchburg; two sisters, Margaret Louise Wilburn of Williamsburg and Bobbie McBride of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Todd White, Gail Hofmann and Michael Hofmann and four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Leon Fincher. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Diuguid Waterlick Chapel at 12:30 PM with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating.A reception and gathering will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service. Interment will be held at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM with military honors by the American Legion Post 16 -Lynchburg.
