Obituary of Gayle Hight

Gayle Hendricks Hight, 58, of Lynchburg died, after a long battle with colon cancer, on Friday , Dec. 14th, 2007 at her home with her family by her side. Born Oct. 19th, 1949 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late John Olen Hendricks and Carrie Wilson Hendricks who survives her. In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughter Jahmie Leigh Hight and her other "daughter" Michelle R. Query; and two sister's Kathy Pavia and husband Dean of Forest and Carolyn Ford of Lynchburg, and the enormous love of her extended family. She also leaves behind four beloved animals Known for her witty sense of humor she often would say" Don't talk to me til I've had two cups of coffee". She was known to love snowmen, Snoopy, and is described by her daughter as the "Most inspirational person I've ever met". She was a member of Tree of Life Church. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30- 2:30 pm in Diuguid's Waterlick Chapel and other times at the home. A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 17th at 2 pm at Tree of Life Church with the Rev. Mike Dodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Tree of Life Ministries, 2812 Greenview Drive, Lynchburg VA 24502 or Hospice of The Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503. .
