Obituary of Margaret Cheves Chilton

Margaret Fallen Cheves Chilton, 89, of Lynchburg died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Rodney W. Cheves and Glenwood T. Chilton. Born May 24, 1918 in Charlotte County she was a daughter of the late Oscar Edwin and Lena Garnett Fallen. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loved all animals. She was a retired employee of Chapstick Industries and was a longtime active member of College Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Myrtle Krantz, Janie Mantos, O.E. Fallen, W.P. Fallen, R. Fallen and H. Fallen. Margaret is survived by her three children, Robert M. Cheves and wife Kathy of Dallas, NC, James D. Cheves and wife Sheryl of Camdenton, Mo., Patricia C. Baker and husband Leslie and step daughter Debra Martin and husband Bud all of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren, Robert M. Cheves, Jr. and wife Sabrina of Blowing Rock, NC, Margaret C. Dancy and husband Dwayne of Boone, NC, Brandy Cheves of Salisbury, NC, Avery G. Cheves of Dallas, NC, P.J. Loy and husband Eric of DuBuque, Ia., Becky Cheves of St. Louis, Mo., Carrie B. Dodge and husband Chris, Katherine P. Baker and step grandson Trey Martin all of Lynchburg and seven great grandchildren, Margaret B. Cheves, Taylor B. Linker, Madison R. Linker, Spencer F. Loy, Tucker R. Loy, Sophie G. Dodge and Anna K. Dodge. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Andrew P. Grose officiating.
