Obituary of Ora Cofflin
Ora Stewart Cofflin, 91, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord January 14, 2008. She was the wife of the late George W. Cofflin
Born June 21, 1916 in Nelson County she was the eldest and last surviving child of the
late Guy Everett and Elsie Jones Stewart. Ora was a retired employee of
Consolidated Shoe Corporation and was employed by Craddock Terry Shoe Company
for many years. She was a long time active member of College Hill Baptist Church having taught Sunday School in the children's
Department for over 30 years and also served as deaconess.
In addition to her husband
and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Everett Stewart; three
sisters, Inez Wood, Thelma Khan and Alice Wright and her grandson, Greg Hudson.
Ora is survived by two daughters, Gloria C. Frye and husband Gary of Lynchburg
and Joy C. Staples and husband John H. of Rustburg and two grandsons, Kenneth
B. Hudson and wife Barbara of Memphis, Tn and Stephen A. Lawhorne of Phenix.
A graveside service will be
held today at 2:00 pm in Fort Hill Memorial
Park with
the Rev. Andrew Grose officiating.
The family will receive
friends Tuesday from 6-7:30 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel.
