Obituary of H. Foster

HAZEL HOLLAND FOSTER Hazel Holland Foster, 86, of Rustburg died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Bedford County on August 26, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Pete Holland and Mary Craighead Holland and was the widow of Douglas Foster. Mrs. Foster was a graduate of Brookville High School, A WAC in the US Army where she served as a nurses aide and was retired from RR Donnelley Printing Company. She was a former member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Woodman of the World. She is survived by two sons, William Riley Patrick, III of Rustburg and Thomas Wiley Patrick and his wife, Shelby of Forest. Three Grandchildren, Mary Kay Torrence and her husband, Dean of Madison Heights, Tracy Patrick Travis and her husband, Steve of Amherst and Kenny Wiley Patrick and his wife, Lani of Lynchburg. Four great grandchildren, Emily Dawn Torrence, Brett Torrence, Keaton Patrick and Kali Patrick. She is also survived by her former husband, William R. Patrick, Jr. of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert S. Jones and a step brother, Garland Emerson Rhodes. A celebration of Hazel's life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday February 26, 2008 at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. George Riggins officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Rd., Lynchburg, Va. 24501 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
