Obituary of George Russell Hare, Jr.

George Russell Hare, Jr., 85, of Forest, left this world to spend eternity with his beloved wife and best friend Barbara Hall Hare. He passed away at Lynchburg General Hospital on March 27, 2023. 

Born December 25, 1937, in Princeton, WV, he was the son of the late George Russell Hare Sr., and Martha Jackson Hare. After graduating from The University of Massachusetts, he joined his father in the family business. He also served in both the Army and Army Reserves. He was a former member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church. 

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle and her fiancé, Lewis; one son, Russ and his wife Dana; three grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Lindsay, Peyton and Jacob; one great-grandson, Carter and one great-granddaughter, Marlee, who is on the way. 

A private burial will take place at a later date.
