Obituary of Rev. Randolph Fairfax Mills, Sr.

Reverend Randolph Fairfax “Randy” Mills, Sr., 77, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carolyn Gillette Mills for 37 years.

Born September 16, 1944 in Matoaka, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence “Robie” Mills and Lotis Tooley Mills. He was retired from Pacific Encore Furniture Manufacturing Company in Princeton, WV and was later ordained as a pastor in the Independent Pentecostal Church. He loved being ordained as a minister as well as his many mission trips to West Virginia. He also loved antique cars, blues music, and bible studies at his neighborhood “lawn mower” shop. Randy also enjoyed playing bass guitar as well as fishing and bow hunting in his early years.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by two sons, Siegfried Charles “Charlie” Mills (Teresa) and Randolph Fairfax “Randy” Mills, Jr. (Debbie); one daughter, Sabrina Mills Fellers (Brad); three granddaughters, Amanda Arndt, Kailey Fellers and Cassie Fellers; two great-grandchildren, Cora and Alayna Arndt and a special niece, Debbie Mills White (Alvin); One sister, Evelyn Mills McKinney and a special aunt, Lula Gray, predeceased him.

The family wishes to thank the entire care team of the STICU, Cath lab, and CTICU for the wonderful and loving care given to not only Randy, but his family as well.

A funeral service will be Friday, August 26, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
