Obituary of Virginia Doris Jones

Virginia Doris “Jenny” Jones, 90, of Evington, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at her home. She was the widow of the late Marvin S. Jones.

Born May 30, 1931 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Allen K. and Elizabeth M. Preas. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Marvin S. Jones, Jr and his wife Katrina of Gladys, VA; three daughters, Deborah Jones of Evington, Martha Lee and Patricia Drewry and her husband, John, all of Lynchburg; one sister, Ann Zechini also of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Ricky Shupe (Shannon), David Jones (Christy), Brandon Funk, Sheena West (Cory), Matthew Drewry and Josh Lee; fifteen great-grandchildren and a special friend and caretaker, Donnie Spiggle. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Christy Tierney and two great-grandsons.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Leffler Cemetery, Evington.
