Obituary of Frances Fairweather Abbott

Frances Fairweather Abbott, 65, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Virginia Baptist Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Phillip Noell Abbott for 46 years.

Born November 28, 1955, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Antoinette K. Sowers. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and retired, due to health reasons, on July 1, 2021 from Perrymont Elementary School where she was a teacher’s aide with Autistic children. In her spare time, she loved to do crafts, such as painting, knitting and jewelry making.

In addition to her husband, Phillip, she is survived by a daughter, Emily A. Kane and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Holly, NC; two grandchildren, Madelyn B. Kane and Zoey N. Kane and numerous nieces and nephews.

There is no service scheduled at this time.
