Obituary of Ava Lou Hicks Meade

Ava “Lou” Hicks Meade, 85, of Forest, Va, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 29, 2021.

Ava was the loving wife of Thomas Mack Meade, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 23, 2002. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Hicks and Annie Jones Hicks, and her brother Harry Lee Hicks.  Ava is survived by two sons, Thomas Mack Meade, Jr (Lisa), William H. Meade (Kim); two grandchildren, Whitney and Karley Meade; two great-grandchildren, Elly Rose Meade and Gabriel Pimienta. She is further survived by other family members and many close friends.

Ava was a pioneer business woman who co-owned and operated Meade’s Cabinet Shop until she was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory, Waterlick Chapel, 21914 Timberlake Rd. with the Rev. Ron Davidson, officiating.  Relatives and friends are welcome on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
