Obituary of Judith Ann Bruni

Judith Ann Bruni 

Judy passed away suddenly at her home on March 31, 2021. She was born in White Plains, NY on 12/16/1943 to Thomas Doyle and Beatrice Weiner Doyle.  She married Jordan Bruni on 9/14/1968 and he survives at home. Along with her husband, Jordan Bruni of Forest, VA, she is survived by  her daughter and son in law Stephanie (James) Hamilton of Forest, VA, her brother Michael Doyle (Virginia) of South Thomaston, Maine, her grandsons Patrick Hamilton of Reading, PA, Daniel Hamilton of Forest VA, Thomas Bruni-Smith of Wappingers Falls, NY and Michael Bruni-Smith of Wappingers Falls, NY.  She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Valerie Bruni and her niece Lisa Croese-Sabour.  She also had 3 beautiful nieces, 1 nephew, loving sister in laws and a brother in law. Judy spent her childhood in Valhalla, NY and graduated from Briarcliff High School.  She went on to Grasslands Nursing School where she received her RN.  She worked countless years in her profession spending most of her career at the Dutchess County Health Department as a visiting nurse.

Judy and Jordan made their home in Fishkill, NY where they raised their 2 daughters.  Upon their retirement, they moved to Sun City Center, Florida where they lived happily for over 10 years.  They relocated to Forest, VA in 2016 to be closer to their daughter.  Judy was a great person who was sassy, truthful and funny.  She wouldn’t mince words when she felt or thought something, and she kept friends and family on their toes. Her sarcastic sense of humor and quick wit will be remembered by all, as well as her compassion and kindness with her patients and friends.  She was the lady on the block that gave everyone candy and cookies, and her home was the place that children would gravitate to. There will be no memorial due to Covid -19, and Judy will be cremated and scattered into the ocean at a future date.  We are comforted by the fact that she was greeted by her daughter and they are “whooping it up” in Heaven together.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory is assisting the family.
