Obituary of Marie Pratt Horine-Conrad

Patty Horine-Conrad a resident of Westminster Canterbury, died December 21, 2020. She was the daughter of the late John L Pratt and Marie B. Gillette of Louisville, Kentucky and Haines City, Florida.

She was predeceased in death by her first husband of fifty-seven years, Elwyn Dee Horine; her second husband J. Gilliam Conrad; a daughter Karen Horine Shelton and son-in-law Thomas H. Shelton of Roanoke, Virginia; brothers John L. Pratt Jr (infant death) and James Bolling Pratt and his wife Jean P. Pratt; daughter-in-law Nancy Reddy Horine; granddaughter Mary D. Shelton; and brother-in-law Mack Miller of Ross California.

Born August 1, 1921 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, moving to Lynchburg, Virginia in 1947. Survivors include her two sons, Robert Lee Horine and his wife Cynthia Thorn Horine of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Ronald Conant Horine and Constance M. Simmons of Huddleston, Virginia; grandchildren Rebecca Horine Robinson (Gregory), Michael L. Horine (Dianna), Daniel C. Horine (Amanda), and David T. Shelton; great grandchildren Conner James Robinson, Jane Marie Robinson, Mitchell Liam Horine, Eva Marie Horine, Elizabeth Nichole Horine, and Leah Jean Horine; sister Jeanne Pratt Miller, Ross, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, attended the University of Louisville and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Patty volunteered her time in many community organizations.

A mass of Resurrection will be conducted on Monday, December 28, 2020 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church with Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery.
