We loved Doris and our uncle Lawrence. Doris once told me that Lawrence loved the big locomotives so much that she told him she thought he loved the train engines more than he loved her. Lawrence really laughed about that one. They were made for each other. And they loved their three sons. Though our visits became rarer with our lives out of town, each time we were together she told me of her boys and families and then of her grandchildren. I admired her playing the violin with her our Aunt Ancy on the piano. I loved it that she had a nickname of Snookie, but I never asked her why she had that name. I always think of her as one of the happiest people and will really miss her, as I do all of the Thompson's who have passed now. What a wonderful clan!
