Obituary of Phyllis Hall Barnes

Phyllis Hall Barnes made a beautiful and peaceful entrance into heaven, joining her husband, John (Jack) Walker Barnes II, on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Phyllis was born July 7, 1923 in Altavista, VA to James Banister Hall and Lucy Roberts Hall.  Phyllis and Jack spent their life together in New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, and Virginia.  After Jack’s passing, she moved the Carriage Club in Charlotte, NC and enjoyed an active life with family and friends there.

Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Cassandra Barnes Rector (Tom) of Charlotte and Dallas Lee Barnes (Jody) of Fredericksburg, along with Grandchildren Lee Rector (Kristen Davis), Allison Rector, Brian Rector (Tara), Nathan Barnes and Justin Barnes (Katie).  She was also blessed with 6 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother James Hall and sisters Jeannette Hall, Nancy Hall Bell and Katie Hall Compton.

The family will gather for a 1 PM graveside service on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Spring Hill Cemetery.
