Obituary of Robert Irvin Newbill

Robert I.( Dick) Newbill, 93 of Lynchburg died Friday January 25, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

He was the widower of Marion Downing Newbill.

Born in Halifax County, VA, he was a son of the late Arthur Edward and Rosa Bass Newbill.  He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was preceded in death by three sisters; Rozell Brown, Francis Hudson, Helen Edmundson; and one brother, Arthur Edward Newbill Jr and two nephews Thomas R. Hudson and Orion Brown.

Mr. Newbill is survived by two nieces; Ednamae Trevey, Pat Mills and one nephew; Keith Brown

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12: noon at Diuguid Wiggington Chapel (434-385-8900) by the Rev. Dan Mason.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of The Summit that have cared for him over the years.
