Obituary of Martha Ann Patterson

Martha Ann Moorefield Patterson, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019. She was the loving wife of Lynn P. Patterson, Sr. of 61 years.

Born on August 29, 1939 in Halifax County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Moorefield and Mozelle Waller Moorefield.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a devoted member of Timberlake Christian Church and was retired from B&W.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Lynn P. Patterson, Jr. of Lynchburg and Timothy W. Patterson and his spouse R. Wayne Hawkins of Hendersonville, NC; one sister Kathryn M. Hendricks; a brother-in-law, Carroll P. Patterson and his wife, Marge of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Susan E. Coleman and her husband, Bill Coleman of Madison Heights, VA, grandchildren, Casey E. Patterson of Forest, VA, Cameron S. Patterson, of Athens, GA; one aunt, Frances Easson and her cousin, Marie Waller . The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the members of Timberlake Christian Church, staff and caregivers at United Health Care, specifically, Sharon Allen of Lynchburg, Brittany Locke of Forest, VA. and her special friends, Lois, Kaye and Louise.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 22, 2019,from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Timberlake Christian Church with Pastor Bob Mooty officiating.
