Obituary of Bob "Bobbie" L. Cox

    Bob (Bobbie) L. Cox, passed away, January 10, 2019. Bob leaves behind a lot of family and friends from his life in Oak Ridge, TN, Dayton, Ohio, Tarpon Springs, FL and Lynchburg, Va. He was preceded in death by son Rich Cox.  
    He is survived by an amazing family and his former wife who has become a life- long friend, Betty Cox, and mother to their four children; daughter, Cheri Cox Nesbitt and son in law, Don Nesbitt of Aiken, South Carolina; grandsons, Isaac Nesbitt and Robert and Heather Nesbitt, son ,Ron Cox ,daughter in law Jenn Cox of Oveda, Florida; grandchildren,Ty Cox, Trey Cox, Trevor Cox, McKenzie Cox; Son- Rob Cox of Florida.
   Long time love of his life that brought him an extended family filled with so much joy and love: Sally Frasier. Son, Daniel Osborne and daughter in law Anita Osborne of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Ethan and Emma; daughter, Deanna Osborne Aultice and son in law Jeff Aultice of Lynchburg ,grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, and Andrew; daughter, Shelley Osborne Stephens and son in law Mark Stephens of Lynchburg Granddaughter Emily; brothers: Pat Cox of Ohio and Mike Cox and wife Nina of Tennessee.

   Bob had irreversible cancer, first diagnosed in mid-2016 after it had metastasized for several years. His love of family and friends, his ready hugs and big smiles wore him well. His enjoyment of fishing and cooking was extreme. His interests, accomplishments, associations, in the overall scheme of life were “minuscule” he said (but we all know they were valued by those he touched).
   Bob was proud to say he was faith based and God had long before told him that “He will tell me when to leave”.
A Memorial service officiated by Trey Cox will be held at Timberlake Tavern, 439 Timberlake Drive, Lynchburg, VA at 2pm on January 19, 2019. Immediately following the service will be an opportunity to celebrate Bob’s life among family and friends until 4pm.
