Obituary of David Lawson

David Benjamin Lawson, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Diane Harkins Lawson for 58 years.

Born June 28, 1933, in Somerville, NJ, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Josephine Podabed Lawson. Dave served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and United States Air Force for 18 years. He served in both, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and American Legion post 16 in Lynchburg. Dave was a big baseball fan and ushered for the Lynchburg HillCats.

In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by two sons, James John Lawson and his wife, Jennifer, of Washington, NJ, and Michael Andrew Lawson of Levittown, PA; two daughters, Susan Jean Palmer and her husband, Scott, of Lynchburg and Nancy Lynn Tripodi and her husband, Geoff, of Chesterfield Township, NJ; two brothers, Benjamin Lawson and his wife, Sandy of FL, and Thomas Benjamin Lawson and his wife Beverly, of Somerset, NJ; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Alec, Allison, Noelle, Craig, Bryce, Eric and Natalie; one great-grandchild, Lynette. He was preceded in death by a brother, James B. Lawson.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Pastor Ron Rumberg officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the service.
