Obituary of Mark Nathan Friend

Mark Nathan Friend, 66, of Evington, VA passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home. Born August 10, 1951 in Lynchburg and raised in Brookneal, he was the son of Connell S. Friend Hicks and the late David Wesley Friend. He was previously employed at Seckman Printing and prior to that he worked in Yosemite National Park and Lake Tahoe in California. He was of the Baptist faith and formerly attended Brookneal Baptist church. In addition to his mother, Connell, he is survived by a half-brother, Robert E. Hicks, III and his nephew, Robert E. Hicks, IV. He was preceded in death by his father, David Wesley Friend and his step-father, Robert Ernest Hicks, Jr. A private gathering for family and friends will take place at a later date.
