Obituary of Frank Glenn Wood

Frank Glenn Wood Sr.,78, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Guggenheimer Nursing Home after a long illness. He was the husband of Linda Gale McFaden Wood. Born June 28, 1939 in Ithaca, New York, he was a son of the late Floyd Edgar Wood and Marie Ammack. Frank worked as a binder with Seckman Printing. In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by eight children, Mishel Powell, Stefani Tucker (David), Helena Childress, Floyd Wood (Patricia), Jessicalyn Byars (Randy), Filip Wood (Megan), Meggin Pitcher (Jason), Yvonne Price (Donnie); two step-children, Darden Couch (Kelli) and Whitney Couch; thirty one grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, James Ammack (Debbie) and one sister, Helena Wood; several nieces and nephews and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Wood. He was preceded in death by one son, Frank Glenn Wood Jr. and three brothers, Myron Jacobs, Walter Wood and Richard Wood. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Diuguid Wiggington Road Chapel. The family will receive friends with a reception after the service at the funeral home.
