Obituary of Laura Lynn Heavner

Laura Lynn Heavner, 55, of Forest passed away at her home Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was the loving wife of Todd Heavner of 33 years. Born June 23, 1962 in High Point, NC , she was the daughter of Frank and Sarah Joyce of High Point. She was a graduate Ragsdale High School and Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Information Systems. She formerly worked with Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC and was a member Bethpage Lutheran Church in Lincoln County, NC. Laura was an avid bee keeper and had great interest in astronomy. She also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and other volunteer work. She was an amazing mother to her two children, Josh and Emily. In addition to her loving husband, Todd, she is survived by a son, Josh, (his friend Amanda Godby), a daughter, Emily, (her friend Steven Rosendahl); her parents, Frank and Sarah Joyce; one brother, David Joyce, and his wife Martha; nephews, Hunter Joyce and his wife Elizabeth, Zane Heavner; niece, Elise Joyce; brother-in-law Mike Heavner and his wife, Debbie. A celebration of Laura's life and faith will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Propst officiating.
