Obituary of Edith Wootton Driskill

Edith Driskill, age 91, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Forest, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017, with her family by her side at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Edith was born in Lynchburg, Va., on August 7, 1926, to Charlie and Gracie Wootton. She married Cecil W. Driskill, April 1950 in Lynchburg. Edith was a long time member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include Sharon and Guy Hopkins of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Linda and Reggie Bennett of Altavista, Va.; and grandchildren, Johnny W. Sale of Moneta, Va., and Heather L. Sale of Wilmington, N.C. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Wesley A. Hopkins. She had several Granddogs including very special Barney and sweet Zoie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church or charity of your choice. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, Lynchburg, Va., with visitation following in the church chapel.
