Obituary of Barbara Jean Wright

UPDATE THIS FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AS SCHEDULED! Barbara Jean Wright, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 17, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife for 44 years of John Wright. Barbara was preceded in death by a great-grandson, three brothers and three sisters She is survived by her husband John; six children, Donna Mellender , Linda Patterson (Robert), Bonnie Scheller, John R. Wright (Sunny), Lou Ann Benware (Lou), Dawn Tropp (Rick); 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Brenda Hite. Barbara had a heart of gold and cherished every moment with family and friends. She was a member of King of Kings Free Will Baptist Church, Forest, VA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Diuguid Funeral Service & Crematory, Waterlick Chapel (434) 237-2722. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Rev. Brandon Baber will be officiating.
